What's New

Planting faith

Fall is here! For our planet, fall is a time of abundance and thanksgiving, and also of impermanence and letting go – the harvest is gathered and shared, the trees release their leaves, the daylight shrinks, and the nighttime expands. For our culture, fall is a time of new beginnings and growth – a refocus after summer leisure, and a new year of learning, growth and development.

This fall at CUMC we’ll be exploring our personal spirituality and nurturing our relationship with God, through study, introspection, conversation, and celebration of our community.

On Sunday September 11 everyone was invited to bring a little bit of dirt from a spot that is sacred to them - be it home, vacation, favorite park, or elsewhere. We combined the dirt and our kids planted a pathos. God is by nature relational - Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer - and we are by nature relational. It is within community that we are able to grow in spirit, understanding and relationship with God. Together we are stronger.

All are welcome in our community of faith. Come and make a new beginning this fall at CUMC.

The fairest trees

Are grown in solid ground.”
