On Friday the Council of Bishops recommended changes to United Methodist polity that will allow our denomination to move forward in unity. 

At our last General Conference in 2016, a Commission on a Way Forward was approved to do a complete examination and possible revision of every paragraph of the Book of Discipline concerning human sexuality, and to explore options that help to maintain and strengthen the unity of the church. On Friday the Council of Bishops recommended that we follow the One Church Model, and will take that recommendation to General Conference in February 2019. Read the Council of Bishop's statement here.
