With great joy, we welcome our new pastor to CUMC!

Pastor Rachel Lamparek studied psychology and religious studies at Simpson College and subsequently received her MDiv. at Garrett–Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. She has been serving at First UMC and Wesley Foundation of Iowa City as  Associate Pastor.

She is married to Keegan Lamparek, a software engineer. They share their home with a dog named Yahtzee.

Rachel is passionate about social justice and service, pastoral care, and empowering young people for ministry. When she has free time, she loves being outdoors, watching basketball, and baking.

She looks forward to building relationships here at CUMC.
